Utah again- May 2016
I made another trip to Utah, this time to shoot with Gwen, Floofie and Dasha. The locations were in the same areas but the landscape changes so much in a short distance that you can easily find new compositions.

Joshua Tree with Merrique - October 2015
Always one of my favorite place to visit and to photograph Joshua Tree is the perfect place to photograph models in the natural landscape. I've been working with models there for over ten years. It's hard and rough surfaces against the soft skin of the model makes for a great combination of textures and colors. Merrique came out to meet me for the afternoon and we started at the 29 Palms Inn where I was staying. It's been a few years since I last stayed there but I've always liked the funky cool of their adobe cabins. After that we worked our way out into the park and ended up at the ruins of Ryan Ranch at sunset. I first met Merrique on a subway platform in New York and have now worked with her in Mexico, California and at my studio in Olympia. She's so good at what she does and her beauty so pleasing that the hardest part is editing photos down to a manageable amount. Here are a few from that afternoon.

Utah - September 2015
On a short trip to Utah in early September 2015 I had the opportunity to work with two models in eight diverse locations from the Bonneville Salt Flats to Goblin Valley and Arches National Park. Early mornings and late nights over the course of five days made for an exhausting but productive trip. Here are a few of the first ones that I've had a chance to pull out of lot of raw images. More to come.....

Merrique in Olympia
Merrique stopped by on May 28th for a few hours to shoot. Our last time working together was in Todos Santos, Mexico. Only my long experience working with the camera kept me shooting otherwise I probably would have just sat there and watched her. She is so fluid and creative even without any props or maybe just a black chair to work with. I've never posted so many images in a post but I had a hard time narrowing it down to these.
