We had a drawing to pair up models and photographers for a free hour long shoot as compensation for the photographers chipping in for some of the model's expenses. I was lucky to pull Meghan's name from the hat and we got together and spent an hour at Casa Dracula and took advantage of it's funky decor and beautiful lighting.

The annual get together of Models and Photographers was held in Todos Santos on the Baja Penninsula. There were a lot of new faces on both sides of the camera this year. We arrived on the 23rd of October and I left on the 2nd of November. The weather was beautiful but very hot (mid 90's) during the middle of the day so only the crazy, of which there were a few ventured out in the midday sun. The rest usually headed to the "Beer and Taco" places or laid in the pool. On my first day of scouting with Candace I came across an old conch cannery a few miles south of town. We didn't explore it on that day but made it back a couple of times to shoot. These photos are from my shoot with Anoush, a beautiful model from Australia and a pleasure to work with.

Katlyn Lacoste

What a great morning. Katlyn arrived at 9am and we left to shoot at my new found location in the ruins of Bordeaux, Washington. The town was established in 1902 and folded in 1943. It had a mill that employed over 400 men, two hotels, several saloons, a couple of banks and an extensive residential area. Now all that is left is pretty much what you see in these images. It's just a shell of part of the mill. I think Katlyn enjoyed working with the ruins and along Bordeaux Creek which meanders through the site. The intention was to shoot at Bordeaux and the move down to my studio in town but we never made it that far. Really an enjoyable 90 degree day here in the Northwest. Working with Katlyn was a lot of laughs, always a plus on an adventure.

On Sunday I had a chance to work with a new model Samii. She's done some modeling but said this was her first Fine Art Nude work. Talked a lot to her about small movements and how it can change the outcome entirely just on how a finger or hand is positioned.

Having another opportunity to work with my friend and muse Jazmine makes for a perfect day. Not just the modeling but the time to spend together talking about life and experiences and plans for the future. I love having friends that when you get together after months or years pass by, you can pick it up in a second from when you last left off. Jazmine is one of those people in my life.

I had the opportunity to work with Rebecca on a recent ten day house swap with a friend in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I had a great time working with Rebecca when she visited me last summer (which is also posted on this blog) so I contacted her to set up a time that we could shoot. We had a narrow window between her family visiting and my departure.

With no plan (my modus operendi) we started cruising the Brooklyn waterfront looking for a spot that was at least semi-private and a view would be nice or at least an interesting backdrop. After a few false starts we found that working under a couple of bridges was working for us as well as a location with some great tagging.

Other than a couple of twelve year old boys on the waterfront (made their day) and joggers on the bridge stairs (couldn't care less) it was pretty much your average urban guerrilla nude photo shoot.

I finally had a chance to works with Ambere again, as she has moved back to the Northwest. The first two shots are of her in an antique kimono that belonged to a friend of hers.

We went to a loft that was owned by a friend of mine. It was pretty rough but very nice space. After I shot with Candace I ended up leasing the space and now it's my studio. Here's one photo from our shoot and one of how the loft looks now.

Candace was visiting for a few days in September. She's great to hang with as so many already know. She's now retired from traveling (for modeling) A loss for us but the best to her on her new phase. The first set is from our guestroom. Just a chair, a window and a talented model.

Vassanta in graceful poses. My first impression was that the feel was so fluid that it seemed as though she was gliding through water. She can make an incredibly graceful images out of such commonplace backgrounds.

Rebecca and I shot in an empty office #516. After a few shots we thought that we should have brought chalk to outline the body. I must say that the "body" was left in some very artistic positions. 10-4.....

Vassanta and I wandered along a small river close to my house and she kept remarking how familiar it felt to where she grew up in Ukraine. She knew flowers, trees, berries and wild herbs from home. It was fun imagining her as a small girl playing in the woods...

Vassanta and I started our shoot together using the backyard fence as a backdrop. Vassanta can hit as many great poses as one could ever want. She is a shapely and sultry model and I love her Russian accent as well. It had been two years since our last shoot.
